How U-MOD Works
U-MOD consists of prefabricated, interconnecting and compatible modules which communicate over a backbone (Ethernet IP). U-MOD starts from central control server module as the brains of the automation configuration. Shading field control modules are then connected, enabling all levels of integration, interoperability and scalability to create custom automated shading configurations.

Configuration Layouts
Each project is designed in the modular tiled configuration by Vasatec shading automation experts, this is configured as an initial planning format. The simple formatting enables U-MOD modules and connections to be easily configured for each project.Each module in the U-MOD series is represented by a tile/card in the unique U-MOD configuration design, this enables simple layouts to be developed, all with costing information built-in, for quick cost estimates and custom layouts. The tile/card contains information about the module, similar to a playing card, including connection, communication, number of BUSbars, motor number, motor type, and operation, etc.
User Interface Control
Facility Management commands and schedules can be adjusted from our user-friendly interface. For tenants and users, our control interface provides direct access for individual operation of blinds as needed.
Sun Tracking Automation
U-MOD sun-tracking delivers the most advanced responsive shading automation possible, with easy to configure settings. All functionality is based on the desired settings for each individual building, façade, zone and window. Advanced parameters setup, weather sensor integration, data analysis showing history, and quick access mode are just some of the functions available.
Sun Simulation Tool
The Sun Sim tests parameters (x4) before activation. This unique U-MOD function works in real time and set to the geographical coordinates of a building anywhere in the world.
Up to 18 individual settings can be used for large scale simulations, for testing a buildings shading location and surrounding environment.
